GRB Academy Internship Program

GRB Academy and the GRB Rays program are looking for self starting, independent thinkers, who are willing to take on new projects in the exciting and fast paced industry of sports facilities and amatuer travel sports.  

The GRB Academy internship program is designed to give students the opportunity to experience working in the world of sports, along with applying classroom knowledge in a real world application.  Interns will get a live look into what it takes to manage, grow, and stay on top in the hyper competitive world of sports.  

The internship program will give the individual a guided role with applications and daily tasks to complete, along with a larger project to complete prior to finishing their time.  GRB Academy is constantly changing and working on improving our methods, processes, and creatively changing the way youth sports and facilities are operated.  

Interns will work side by side with the staff of GRB, and will be introduced and gain networking opportunities to some of the larger names in the college and professional baseball world.  Interns will have the opportunity to be both indoors and outdoors in the beautiful summer months, and may be asked to travel nationally to some of the larger recruiting events in the country with our staff.

SPORTS/OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT INTERN

START DATE:  End of May 2020

END DATE:  Middle of August 2020

LOCATION:  GRB Madison Office

INTERNSHIP OUTLINE:  We are looking for a motivated individual who can manage the coordination that it takes to operate a facility and sports teams.  This includes the facility space sales, program usage of the facility, setup/takedown of the spaces daily.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Help manage the flow of customers using GRB spaces
  • Work with staff on current projects
  • Assist with team coordination and communication
  • Design and execute brand activation projects

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to reside in Madison metro and have transportation to the GRB Office
  • Monday-Friday availability 
  • Working knowledge of baseball and interest in managing a sports facility

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in Google Drive 
  • Working towards a degree in sports management, management, or business.

VIDEO/GRAPHICS INTERN

START DATE:  September of 2020

END DATE:  December of 2020

LOCATION:  GRB Madison Office

INTERNSHIP OUTLINE: GRB Academy and the GRB Rays are searching for a self-starter, willing to take on new challenges and projects in the world of sports video and graphics. This position will include working with baseball videos and pictures used for marketing of the GRB Rays program.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Shoot video at team practices and games
  • Take photos at team practices and games
  • Cut video and edit photos for program marketing material
  • Player recruiting video creation
  • Create pre-season hype videos for GRB Rays teams prior to season

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to reside in Madison metro and have transportation to the GRB Office
  • Ability to travel to team events outside Madison area
  • Access to Adobe Photoshop and video editing software

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong Adobe Photoshop skills
  • Experience with video editing software

SPORTS JOURNALISM INTERN 

START DATE:  End of May 2020

END DATE:  Middle of August 2020

LOCATION:  GRB Madison Office

INTERNSHIP OUTLINE:  We are looking for a motivated individual who has an understanding of baseball and can create content about our teams.  This could include writing weekend roundups, college roundups, interviewing current professional and collegiate players, and increasing brand awareness.  Applicant should have strong writing and composition skills

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Create Press Releases of GRB Events, Camps, Tryouts, Etc.
  • Write feature articles to be displayed on the company website
  • Provide administrative assistance with data entry 
  • Roundup articles for the GRB teams and alumni
  • Game and event coverage

REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Must be able to reside in Madison metro and have transportation to the GRB Office
  • Monday-Friday availability with some weekend availability

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficient in Google Drive
  • Some past experience with social media

ABOUT GRB ACADEMY:  

GRB Academy has grown to be one of the premier locations for players to develop and move onto college baseball.  Since 2010, GRB Academy has had over 225 college commitments, including 92 Division One commitments.  

GRB’s platform and scheduling allows some of the most respected names in college baseball to recruit from our program, including past players at Vanderbilt, Michigan, Iowa, Minnesota, Oregon State, Arkansas, West Virginia, Clemson, Arizona State, Coastal Carolina, Indiana, Gonzaga, Tennessee, Kent State, Nebraska, Memphis, Texas A&M, and several others.  Several players have also advanced to professional baseball, including 2017 1st round draft pick Jeren Kendall and Toronto Blue Jay starting catcher Danny Jansen. GRB is the consistent choice for the sons of former professional baseball and college baseball players.
