Jansen Promoted to Blue Jays 40-Man Roster

Former Rays catcher Danny Jansen has been promoted to the Toronto Blue Jays 40-man roster.

Jansen (Appleton, Wis.) hit .323 in 104 games across three levels of the Blue Jays minor league system this past Summer. Starting the year in Advanced-A Dunedin, Jansen hit .369 in 31 games with five home runs and six doubles. Jansen spent most of the Summer in Double-A New Hampshire where he played in 52 games compiling a .291 average with 15 doubles. Promoted to Triple-A Buffalo in August, Jansen had an outstanding final stretch to the season hitting .328 with three home runs and four doubles.

For the year, Jansen was named to the Baseball America First-Team Minor League All-Star Team.
